Secondment /12 month Fixed Term contract vacancies have arisen within our Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) due to maternity leave within the service.

We expect to recruit positive, forward thinking individuals who are motivated, can motivate others and manage the needs of the service creatively and have proven experience within CCOT. The posts cover RAEI and Wrightington sites. It is expected that all the practitioners will rotate over to the Elective site to work in a more proactive role, attending ward rounds, trawling wards for potential deterioration and working closely with the Medical staff. 

As a registered professional you must have a high level of experience working within Critical Care. You will need to be highly motivated and be prepared to continue to develop your expertise. Your role will involve assessment, treatment and management of acutely ill/deteriorating patients within the ward environment and a strong focus on the recognition and management of the septic patient.

Please note that a significant part of the role will be teaching nursing, AHP and medical staff. You will need evidence of teaching as you are expected to be proactive in developing staff and assist in all training offered to the multidisciplinary team. Original certificates for all essential qualifications will be required to be produced at interview stage.  The post will involve internal rotation from day duty to night duty and from acute site to elective site in turn.

Excellent communication skills are an integral part of this role.

This vacancy is open to all internal and external candidates. NHS Employees should secure their manager’s agreement for a secondment arrangement ideally prior to applying, as this will be a condition of any offer made. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term basis as it has been established to provide cover for an employee on maternity leave and will be for a period of 12 months or up until when the substantive postholder returns.
